Janet Ann Von Hoene, 71, peacefully joined our Heavenly Father on 12 July, 2016. She was born on September 21, 1944 to John J. Duke (deceased) and Doris Abbott Duke (deceased) in London, England. Raised in Barnesboro, Pennsylvania along with brothers John D. Duke, Raymond Duke and sisters Tina (Duke) Whitney, Theresa Duke (deceased).
While growing up in Barnesboro, she enjoyed much of her time going to Saturday Night Fire Hall dances and roller skating in Northern Cambria County, Pennsylvania. She enjoyed being a Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. Janet spent 30 years living in Falls Church, Virginia and was proud to work most of her career at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. She was a retired DoD Civilian Personnel Training Specialist and moved to Leesburg, Virginia after her retirement. Janet has enjoyed many leisure hours being with her family and grandchildren during her retirement.

Preceded in death by her husband, Gerald James Von Hoene in July 2015.
Janet is survived by son Christopher Von Hoene, of Centreville, Virginia; daughter Caren Baggett, of Purcellville, Virginia; daughter-in-law Laura (Legler) Von Hoene, of Centreville, Virginia; son-in-law Mark Baggett, of Purcellville, Virginia.

In addition she is survived by her grandsons Addison Jennings, Noah Von Hoene, Caiden Bonamassa, and granddaughters Emma Von Hoene, Anna Von Hoene, Corinne Bonamassa, and Sara Von Hoene.

Our family would like to extend a special "Thank you" to Home Helpers and the Capital Caring Hospice for their dedication and support in the care of our beloved mother, sister, and grandmother.

Family and friends are invited to share their memories on Sunday, July 17, 2016 between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry NE, Leesburg, Virginia 20176. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 11:00 am on Monday, July 18, 2016 at the Funeral Home. She will be buried in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
