Janet Miller - Obituary

Janet Marie Simpson Miller, 92, of Leesburg, VA died peacefully at Morningside House of Leesburg Assisted Living Center on September 18, 2019.  She is no longer suffering from dementia and can celebrate her heavenly reward with renewed awareness.

Born in Martinsburg, WV on August 14, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Bessie Smith Simpson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin (Bud) Miller; brothers, Bernard, Clifton, Rudolph, Marvin, Norbert, Heyward, Harlan and Earl; her sisters, Berkeley Gay, Mary Lee Kidwell, and Dorothy Wilson. She was the last remaining Simpson sibling from her family. There is a significant heavenly family reunion going on!

She is survived by her son Michael (Mary) Miller; grandchildren William (Mariya) Miller, Katherine Miller (Greg Cohen), and Jonathan Miller; and great grandchildren Annabelle Miller and Nicholas Miller; and many nieces and nephews.

Janet was a proud and supportive Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was a member of Our Savior's Way Lutheran Church in Ashburn, VA.

The family would like to give thanks to Morningside House of Leesburg for their professional and compassionate care for the past 9 years as her dementia progressed.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 20, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Road NE, Leesburg, VA 20176.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Bill Mann officiating at Our Savior's Way Lutheran Church, 43115 Waxpool Road, Ashburn, VA 20148

Burial will be private at Ft. Lincoln Cemetery in Maryland the following week.
