Jason Nathaniel Fricke
(February 22, 1985 - September 29, 2013)
Jason Nathaniel Fricke went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on September 29, 2013; he was 28 years old. He was born on February 22, 1985, to Buddy and Kari Fricke, and is one of 8 children. His siblings include: Alvin "Buddy" Lee, Jr and his wife Tamara, Daniel Rothman, Leigh Edward-James, Patricia Charlotte-Elizabeth, Jonathan Francis, Christopher Alexander, and Gabriel Charles. His grandparents are Edward Allen and Patricia Lee Fricke, and James Gerald and Evelyn Marie Stroud. He also has four aunts and uncles, and fourteen cousins.
Jason graduated from Bethlehem Baptist Christian Academy in 2003. In November 2010, he received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Wright State University, with a concentration in robotics/control systems. While at WSU, Jason proudly participated as a cadet in Air Force ROTC. During this time, he received many awards and commendations; most notably, he earned the ranking of sharp shooter, and also received the Legacy Medal as he was a continuing legacy of his grandfather who served in the Army Air Corps.
The most important things to Jason were God, family, and friends. Jason was one of the most fun loving people, and he never passed an opportunity to encourage those around him; he truly was the "salt and light to the world" as Christ calls us to be. Jason loved to help people; he would drop anything, any time, to help anyone he saw in need. In the summer of 2005, Jason took a life-changing Missions trip to Cambodia; this was simply the start of his impact on the world. Later in 2005, he introduced one of his best friends to our family business. He didn't know this at the time, but that one conversation would change thousands of lives across the United States, South America, Vietnam, and more, forever; even more so, many of these people have come to know Christ. Jason always loved to dive in and tackle anything, whether it were VCRs and cameras as a kid, to cars, jets, and heavy machinery as an adult. He always had a story, adventure, or joke to share and liven up peoples' lives. Jason had a way of doing things his way, but always lived the principles his parents taught him. He lived by the words "a man's word is his bond" and "you either stand for something, or you fall for anything". Jason truly left people's lives better than when he met them.
