Jean E. McLain of Leesburg, VA passed away on October 9, 2009. Mrs. McLain was 55 years old. A loving and caring lady, she devoted her life to others. She proudly served her community as a member of the Leesburg Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years. Mrs. McLain had a special place in her heart for children. She was a daycare provider and, whenever the need occurred, an emergency foster care provider.

Survivors include her husband Thomas A. McLain at home; daughter Angela McLain and friend Cody Kovacic of Leesburg; daughter Amy McLain Sharpe and husband Michael of Leesburg; son Eric McLain and friend Tiffany Barnett of Leesburg; grandchildren Ryan and Ryleigh Sharpe; mother Marguerite Ann (Omerzu) Smith and brother David Michael Smith. She was predeceased by her father Richard Carter Smith.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd. NE, Leesburg, VA 20176 on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 between 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A service will follow at 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be sent to Leesburg Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 70, Leesburg, VA 20178.

A graveside service will be held october 24, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. in Schuyler Lake, NY.
