Jean "Jeanie Beanie" Kathleen (Torbett, Helmke) Rorick, long-time Loudoun resident, entered the warm light of heaven amongst her fellow angels in the early morning hours of July 1st¬ at Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, VA. She was born November 22, 1927 to Ernest Bogart Torbett and Mary Elmina (Browder) Torbett in Chattanooga, TN. She was pre-deceased by her five siblings, her husband and father of her children Wallace Helmke, her second husband Eugene Rorick, and her eldest child Susan. She is survived by two sons David Lawrence of Hamilton, VA and Thomas Alan of South Riding, VA, as well as six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by two step-children Terri Murray of Landrum, SC with two grandchildren and a great grandchild and David Rorick of Goodlettsville, TN.
Through the hardships of her life, Jeanie Beanie always emerged a better person. More loving, infinitely kind, and full of grace. As her family's matriarch, she held her family as her greatest accomplishment in this life. Her family's love for her will endure as a lasting legacy of her beautiful life. She was simply a blessing to humanity.
Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Jean's life, at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd NE, Leesburg, VA 20176, on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at 3:00 pm, with service at 4:00 pm. Jean's final resting place will be beside her husband Gene at the Arlington National Cemetery.
