Jeanette Leslie Corbett went to heaven on September 10, 2026, after natural causes ended her life on this earth. Born on November 30, 1938, to Benjamin and Gladys Brown of Griffin, Georgia. Leslie had a happy childhood filled with pets, friends and family. She graduated from Griffin High School in 1957 and matriculated Valdosta State University, where she excelled in student leadership and earned a baccalaureate degree. She met her future husband in her freshman year and later married on July 7, 1962, as he was completing his military flight training in Beeville, Texas. They loaded up their possessions into their baby blue 1962 Ford Galaxy 500. With the top down they launched into their lifelong adventure starting with 25 years in the United States Marine Corps. Leslie was a vital teammate and was deeply involved in her husband’s career, volunteering and leading spousal support as he held command, served with decorated valor in Vietnam and achieved Colonel’s rank.

Leslie loved horses, raising children and supporting her husband and enjoying an active social life while remaining supportive of her parents and siblings.

A true Southern Belle, she did everything with class and decorum. She was the nicest, sweetest person you could ever know. Leslie lived a life guided by God, Christian values and the 10 Commandments. She would say that she had a fairytale life; a lifetime of friends like those in McLean Hamlet and all over the country, traveling the world to all seven continents, and contentedly reminiscent as she left us. “What a wonderful life we have had, Babe” she would often say to her husband.

Leslie is survived by Charles, her loving husband of 64 years, her children Deborah, Douglas and Cheryl and grandchildren, Ashton and Spencer. Leslie will be interred with her husband at his passing and burial at Arlington National Cemetery so they can resume their adventure together.
