Jenivee Maggie Sherman passed away on June 18th after a bravely fought battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her daughters (Jeannie Sherman Tabor and Sandee Leigh Dean), her first cousin Ronnie Beach, and his wife LaNeta Beach.

Jenny graduated from Washington and Lee High School in 1958 and grew up in Arlington, Virginia. After living in various parts of the country, she had recently returned home to Virginia. For the last several months, she lived with Ronnie and LaNeta, who selflessly and lovingly took care of her. During this time, Jenny was welcomed by the Worship Center Assembly of God. We all take peace in knowing that she was surrounded by such a strong community of faith.


Jenny loved playing games, watching old movies, and being surrounded by her family and friends. She was a loving mother and grandmother and was known for her love of history and politics and her great sense of humor. She took great pleasure in cooking and baking and sharing it all with others.


Jenny is survived by her daughters, their husbands (Owen Britt Tabor, Jr. and Joseph Maurice Dean), her grandchildren (Alexander Sherman Tabor, Owen Harrison Tabor, Virginia Elizabeth Tabor, Bradleigh Elizabeth Dean, and Brooke Alexandra Dean), and the extended Beach family.


Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Colonial Funeral Home (201 Edwards Ferry Road; Leesburg, VA 20176), with burial following at Hillsboro Cemetery. She will be laid to rest near her mother, Alice Virginia Martin.
