PSALM 116:15 (KJV)
15 PRECIOUS IN THE SIGHT OF THE LORD IS
THE DEATH OF HIS SAINTS.
Jennifer Baker, wife of Bobby Ray Baker, Jr., passed from this life while a patient at Fairfax Hospital, Annandale, VA. Jennifer had bravely and with a strong faith battled Melanoma for over eight years. The end came as she still fought against the malignancy, never surrendering until she could fight no more.
Jennifer was born March 31, 1969 in Freeborn, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her father, Neil Sturman, and mother-in-law, Barbara Baker. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Ray, three sons: William Michael, Andrew Forester, and Benjamin Cole; her mother and stepfather Paulett and Ronnie Williams, and one sister Michelle Sturman-Rozenson.
Jennifer attended South Lakes High School in Reston, Virginia; graduating in 1987. She attended college at Shepherd College, earning a BA degree in 1992. Jennifer married in 1992. She was Jewish by birth, and had a Jewish wedding May 24, 1992, followed by a Christian wedding May 30, 1992. She was saved and was baptized in Sterling Park Baptist Church. Jennifer was a charter member of Faithway Baptist Church, Leesburg, Virginia.
During the last years of her life, Jennifer won the love of many people by her courage and steadfast faith in Jesus Christ. Just a few months before her death, she told us all that whether she lived or died, she would be the winner because of her faith.
Even though her body has passed from this life, we must remember that God only loaned it to us for a season, and at the appropriate time, He came to reclaim what was already His. The following scriptures should comfort us:
JOHN 11: 25-26 (KJV)
25. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.
26. And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die.
Believest thou this?
1CORINTHIANS 15:54-55 (KJV)
54. So when...this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, death is swallowed up in victory.
55. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
Jennifer through her faith is assured that she will live again, and death and the grave have no victory over her.
Written by her father-in-law
