It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother on May 8, 2026, after a courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Born in Saigon, Vietnam in 1959, she spent her life as a proud resident of Northern Virginia.

Jenny was known for her love of travel and her deep devotion to family. Over the years, she explored more of the world than her three children combined, journeying to destinations across Europe, China, the Bahamas, Vietnam, and throughout the United States.

In her early years, she was a wonderful, fun-loving mother, and as time passed, she became a caring and doting grandmother to Kiana, Kendrick, and Vivi. Although she never had the chance to meet her fourth granddaughter, Jamie, we know she would have embraced her with the same love and joy she showed to all her family.

Jenny found true happiness spending time with her adult children, whether it was traveling together, enjoying evening happy hours, or meeting their friends. She was the “fun mom” everyone adored and cherished. She also took great pleasure in experimenting in the kitchen, frequently recreating beloved dishes she had experienced throughout her life. Her husband, ever the supportive taste tester, would occasionally praise her creations as surpassing the originals, a testament to her talent and dedication.

She was preceded in death by her son, Dai Lam. She is survived by her loving husband, David Maydwell, her daughters, Vicky and Thuy, and by her precious grandchildren, Kiana, Kendrick, Vivi, and Jamie.

Jenny will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her adventurous spirit, her warmth, and the unwavering love she shared with her family and friends.
