Jerry Ellis Burleson, age 69, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 30, 2018.

Born March 9, 1949, he was the son of the late James Vernon Burleson, Jr., and Thelma Agnes Rice.

In Jerry's younger years he enjoyed riding horses and helping out on his grandparent's farm. He graduated from North Buncombe High School, Weaverville, N.C., and after graduation he proudly served in the United States Army, during the Vietnam war. Post war time service Jerry was a member of the Fairfax Police Department and President of Burleson Bros, Inc. He enjoyed working, hunting with the Fairfax Hunt, and was a friend and mentor to many.

He leaves behind a loving wife, Terrie Lea (Hubble) Burleson, of 11 years; step daughter, Kristina Hubble (Patrick) of Fredericksburg, VA; grandson Chase Dakota of Fredericksburg, VA; a brother Joe Burleson (Kay) of Chase City, VA; a sister Judy Griffin (Aubrey) of Newton, N.C. and many relatives and friends.

A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday July 21, 2018, at the home of Joe and Kay Burleson 369 Lawson Road, Chase City, VA. Please bring stories to tell and photos to share of Jerry while enjoying food and drink with friends and family.
