Joanne Luppino-Esposito, 65, died in her home in Lovettsville, VA, after a difficult struggle with frontotemporal dementia. Joanne was born on March 13, 1954 in Jersey City, NJ where she grew up. She graduated from St. Aloysius High School. Joanne received a bachelor's degree in sociology from Jersey City State College and a master's degree in social work from Rutgers University. She married her husband, Joe, in 1981. Together they resided in Massachusetts and Secaucus, NJ, and started a family in Bogota, NJ, later moving to Wyckoff, NJ.

Joanne was a social worker for 40 years, working for the Red Cross, adoption agencies, and most recently at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ, where she retired in 2016 after 20 years of service as a case worker and educator. Joanne spent much of her time working with the families of those stricken by terminal illness, helping them cope. As her loved ones now face that same challenge, her presence is especially missed.

She was the beloved wife of Joe Luppino-Esposito for 38 years; devoted mother to her children Joe (and his wife Amanda) of Round Hill, VA and Jeff (and his wife Julia) of Los Angeles, CA; a loving grandmother of her grandchildren Emilia and Isla; and a dear sister, aunt, and lifelong friend to so many.

She is predeceased by her father Anthony J. Luppino and mother Katherine Mary Luppino (nee Andronaco).

Public visitation will be on Sunday, September 29, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, VA. A funeral mass will be held at St. Francis de Sales Church in Purcellville, VA on Monday, September 30, at 11am , followed by interment at Quantico National Cemetery in Triangle, VA.
