Joanne Owens Maneval passed at MedStar Washington Hospital Center on February 9, 2024 surrounded by family.
Joanne was born September 22, 1932 in Ehrenfeld, Pennsylvania, the third child of Paul Andrew and Anna Bender Dillon.
Joanne worked as an administrative and legal secretary until retiring in 1990 when she moved from Springfield, Virginia to Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania to be near her mother and stepfather Charles A. Lantzy.
In addition to her parents and stepfather, Joanne was preceded in death by husbands, Joseph Leon Owens, Robert Lair Donaldson, Glenn Russell Maneval, sister Pauline Dillon, brother Richard Dillon and beloved daughter Beth Ann Owens Reinhart.
She was survived by two sons, Daniel Joseph Owens (Rosie) of Naperville, Illinois and Mark David Owens (Julie) of Alexandria, Virginia, seven grandchildren, Jeremy Daniel Owens (Meghan), Sherri Grace Owens Harrell (Dylan), Wendi Colleen Reinhart, Natalie Anne Owens (Jason), Casey Joseph Reinhart, Nathan Daniel Reinhart and Dillon Christopher Owens, as well as seven great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Joanne enjoyed over ten years at Ashby Ponds, Ashburn, Virginia, where she lived a full, joyful life. Joanne was an organizer of the Bridge Club, active in the Catholic Community and many others activities. At Ashby Ponds, Joanne was surrounded by many friends. As an avid bridge player, she enjoyed the game until having heart attack symptoms on February 2, 2024 – while playing bridge.
