Joel Lewis Satin, beloved husband of Sherry, died on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009. He was an engineer for the Dept. of the Navy for more than 35 years and was a Captain in the Navy Reserve. He loved his family, opera, and classical music and was a ham radio operator (W3GOH) most of his life. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Alec, Arnold, and Larissa; two stepchildren, Amy Smith and David Shear; one sister, Tobi Willcher; three grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 27, at 2:00 P.M. at the Old School in Waterford, Va. Interment with full military honors will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
