John Gray Baldwin, Jr., passed away July 1, 2009 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Leonard Pomata of Aldie.
John was born November 11, 1915 in Montclair, NJ. He worked for 30 plus years at Aircraft Radio Corp, later Sesna, in Boonton Twp. NJ where he and his "bride" Edith Loudin raised two sons and a daughter. He retired in 1971 and shortly thereafter they moved to Maine and lived near their son, Alan and family.
In 1986, they moved to Woodstock, Va. where they enjoyed the fellowship of their peers at the Church there and the close proximity to their daughter and her grandchildren. When his cherished "bride" died of Alzheimer's disease in 2005, John remained in their home until his health declined. His daughter encouraged him to move to her home in Aldie so that she could become his caregiver. He has lived there for the past 2 years.
He will be remembered by his family as a life-time student of history; impeccably honestand fair in his daily dealings with others; his strong Christian faith by which he lived his life; and his total devotion to wife and family. He was a fine example to his family and well respected and loved by all who knew him. He will be missed by us all.
He is survived by 2 sisters, three children, 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
