Obituary
John Dudley Carneal, Sr. age 78 of Indigo Creek, formerly of Leesburg, VA died Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Waccamaw Community Hospital.
Born in Leesburg, VA, he was a son of the late Garland and Anna Carneal. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War where he served on the USS Newport News and the USS Wisconsin. Mr. Carneal retired from USPS after 30 years. He then went on to serve as a Magistrate for Loudoun County, VA. He was a member of the VFW and a member of the Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife Ruby Carneal of Indigo Creek; sons, John D. Carneal, Jr. and his wife Ginger of Winchester, VA and W. Kent Carneal and his wife Kestina of Purcellville, VA; five granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; and a cousin, Annie Brandon of Richmond, VA
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd. NE, Leesburg, VA 20176.
