IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Nicholas
Cirillo
February 21, 1952 – January 18, 2021
John Nicholas Cirillo, 68 of Loudoun, Virginia passed away on January 18 th 2021 due to a chronic medical condition.
John was born in Washington DC and graduated from Woodson High School in 1970 and went on to become a great civil servant to the Virginia community. John lived in Virginia for most of his life and worked for Arlington County for 16 years and helped construct the Arlington county jail and public library. In 2004 he started working at the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority at Dulles International Airport up till his retirement in October of 2020. His favorite job at the airport was the new construction of tunnels to transport passengers from the main terminal to the departure gates.
He built strong lasting relationships with his co-workers and childhood friends and enjoyed the simple things in life like the tranquility of Sunday morning coffee, Washington Redskins football games, and taking care of his beloved pets.
In his spare time, he loved cooking and preparing meals for his family. Sharing a meal with family and friends around the dinner table was his special sanctuary. Some of our favorites were his shrimp and linguini in olive oil and garlic sauce, spaghetti with meatballs and sausage, chili and stews when the weather turned cold and barbecues in the summer with fresh salads. John was also a fond lover of the beach particularly Ocean City and the Outer Banks where he enjoyed cooking local seafood and after dinner challenging his family to a game of miniature golf.
John Cirillo's three gifts in life were his wife, Sherry and his twins Andrew and Madison. John was patient, kind, honest, and loyal. Madison learned from her father how to be a responsible adult, how to cook like an Italian, and most importantly he taught her what a man and husband ought to be. Andrew shared his father's empathy, courage, and admiration for his family and friends. Sherry learned how to take things in stride from her husband and how to worry less. Sherry relied on her husband's strength and perseverance even during the toughest times. He will be forever in our hearts and memories.
In lieu of flowers the family of John Cirillo's family would appreciate donations in his memory to the American Red Cross. Please donate online at Memorial Donations - Donate In Honor Of A Loved One | Red Cross
