Obituary

John Michael Griffin died April 10, 2013 in Leesburg, Virginia. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on July 27, 1930. Mr. Griffin held several senior executive positions at Data GraphiX Inc. (a subsidiary of General Dynamics) and Anacomp Corporation. Retiring as Vice President of Federal Marketing for Anacomp Corporation. He served in the U.S. Army as First Lieutenant during the Korean War. During his military service he was an instructor in tactics and infantry and served as a platoon leader and Army Ranger. Graduate of Clark University, Worcester , MA. Awarded intelligence medal of merit for meritorious service to the Central Intelligence Agency where he served four years.
Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife Cherie of Leesburg, sons Kerry Griffin of Leesburg, Brian Griffin of Herndon, Virginia, his daughter Susanne Cook of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and two grandchildren, Alaina of Hot Springs and Andrew of San Diego, California. He is also survived by his sister, Alice Landry of Marlboro, Massachusetts, brothers Tom Griffin of South Windsor, Conn., Paul Griffin of Cape Cod, MA Donald Griffin of Marco Island, Florida and many nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph.
Viewing will be at Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, VA on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM. A Catholic Mass will be held at St. John's Little Chapel at the corner of North King Street and Union Street in Leesburg on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 10:30am.

A graveside service will be held in Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA on May 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.
