Obituary

JOHN WILLIAM MCCONNELL

Of Ashburn, VA on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. Devoted husband of Laura and loving father of

Cayley and Alysa.

John was born on December 26, 1960 in Glens Falls, NY, the son of John J. and Judy Freebern

McConnell. After a successful career in the United States Air Force, he worked as a government

civil servant. He retired from the federal government in January 2017 and enjoyed biking,

skiing, and listening to his favorite band Rush.

John is survived by his mother Judy, sisters Sharon, Kim, Lori, and Missy, and brother Rob. He

was predeceased in death by his father John, his brother James, and his brother-in-law Charles.

Also surviving are nephews Travis and John, and nieces Maria, Gina, Angie, and Madelyn.

Private funeral services will be held at Colonial Funeral Home, followed by interment at Union

Cemetery in Leesburg, VA. Condolences may be sent through the website at Colonial Funeral

Home in Leesburg.
