John W. Rapp of Leesburg, Virginia passed away on January 21, 2012 at the age of 90. One of four children, Mr. Rapp was born in Seymour, Indiana to parents John Craig and Christine (LeBline) Rapp. He later married Winifred Swallow Rapp. He was blessed with children Lindley Uehling and Laurel Chase. Mr. Rapp proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1944 to 1969 rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Those left to cherish and share their memories are his wife Winifred; his daughters Lindley and Laurel; sisters Margaret Simmons and Christine Ingleby Mitchel; grandchildren Ian MacLeod Howat and Alexander MacLeod Chase; and great granddaughter Anna Jayne Howat. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Julia Hobson.

Mr. Rapp will be laid to rest with honors at the Arlington National Cemetery on Monday, April 23, 2012 starting at 11:00 AM.
