Obituary

John Anthony Ross of Leesburg, Virginia passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2013. John was 69 years old.

The proud son of Marguerite (Jenkins) and John A. Ross, John was born on April 29, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland. His family later moved to Leesburg, Virginia where he attended Leesburg Public Schools in the primary/elementary years. While in his teen years his father, whom he adored, passed away. His mother became most concerned at the thought of raising her sons properly. She made the decision to send them to Randolph Macon Military Academy where John completed high school. He attended Lees McRae College in North Carolina.

John found true happiness when he met and married the love of his life, Carole Bruce Flint. John was totally devoted to Carole throughout their entire marriage of 47 years.

Throughout his life John was involved in many facets. The most recent being the proud owner of Meyers Lumber Company in Purcellville, Virginia. He found much satisfaction at the lumber yard; not only with the daily running of operations but the friendly atmosphere where customers became friends.

John was an active member of the Masonic Lodge Olive Branch 114 and a past member of the Kiwanis.

John will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. But his memories will be cherished by those he leaves behind: his wife Carole Ross of Leesburg, his brother James J. Ross of Arizona, his extended family and his many friends.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 21, 2013 between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd NE, Leesburg, Virginia 20176. Services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Colonial Funeral Home.
