IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John "Jack"
Samuel Arnold
April 16, 1932 – December 29, 2021
John (Jack) Samuel Arnold, age 89, of Leesburg, Virginia passed away on December 29, 2021. He was born on April 16, 1932 and was the son of James E. and Forrest I. Arnold.
A life-long resident of Loudoun County, he worked as a farmer on the Arnold Family farm in Waterford, Virginia. He also worked many years at McKimmey's Feed Service in Leesburg and Purcellville Feed and Fertilizer. Even after retirement, as he missed working outdoors, he became a member of the Grounds Crew at the Westpark Golf Course in Leesburg.
Mr. Arnold was a member of the Loudoun County Baseball Association including the first ever Lucketts Baseball Team. During its 20-year span, the Lucketts Club won eight County championships, a feat that was relived and celebrated in September of 2010, where 20 living members of the team reunited with family and friends.
Mr. Arnold was a proud supporter of the 4-H Club, where his children participated in the County Fair exhibits and even the showing of a grand champion steer one summer.
He enjoyed playing golf and loved caring for his pet pugs, Sam and Mokey.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, and beloved grandfather. He was a true friend to anyone who had the honor to know him and his sense of humor was unparalleled.
He is survived by his wife of over 69 years, Janet Bozel Arnold; a daughter, Diane Grimes, and her husband Thomas; several grandchildren including Megan and Dylan Grimes. He was preceded in death by three children -- Richard, Ann, and Greg Arnold; a sister, Frances McKimmey; and a brother, Edwin Arnold.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
