John Joseph Ventura, 78, of Leesburg, VA passed away after a long battle with Plasmacytosis and then Multiple Myeloma. He was holding his wife and soulmate Marsha's hand when he passed. A closed memorial service will be held at 11:00 on Wednesday November 17 th at Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, VA with a future internment at a Arlington National Cemetery.
John was born March 10, 1943, in Brooklyn, NY the oldest of four siblings and one step sibling. Growing up John lived all over Brooklyn. John was a proud alumnus of St Augustine HS and Fordham University and served in the USAF during Vietnam after which he worked for Consolidated Edison in New York for 43 years. John loved to travel and was an avid fisherman. He loved to read, enjoyed Motown and Doo Wop and movies. He is survived by his wife Marsha and his Daughter Jenn and her husband Rolin and many family members and friends who have been telling John stories since they heard of his passing. John had a rich and full life, and we will miss him dearly, but love is eternal, and we will see him again.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Myeloma.org because someday there will be a cure, stjude.org which he donated to every year or our favorite goodshepherds.org whose mission is a New York City where all NYC children, youth and families succeed and thrive.
