Jon Russell Braunsma (53) of Leesburg, Va passed away surrounded by his family on February 14, 2023. Jon was born July 31, 1969 in Millville, NJ to his parents JoAnn and Johannes Braunsma.

After graduating from high school in Millville, Jon attended college at Drexel University in Philadelphia PA. He then moved to Tulsa, OK.  After that he returned to the east coast to Middletown MD.  Jon met his wife, Danielle Murphy in January 2012. They then married in 2014 and blended their families together living in Leesburg, VA.  Jon is also survived by his, Jon Russell Braunsma Jr and two stepchildren, Ethan Wayne Beaugez and Lillian Paige Beaugez, born to Danielle. Jon also loved his family and friends and they loved him dearly.

Jon had a very extensive work career in computer software and worked for Convergent Systems, Digicast, Comtech and owned his owned his own business, Convergent Systems. Most recently, Jon worked at Verizon as a DMTS-Maintenance & Engineering in Ashburn Virginia.

Jon loved his animals.  His "best buddy" is Gunner, a clumsy German Shepherd.  He is survived by his other two German Shepherds, Chihuahua and 5 cats.  Jon and Danielle lived on a farmette where he loved watching and playing with his goats, chickens and ducks.

He was an avid Eagles fan and proudly taunted those that did not. Although they lost the Super Bowl game, he was very proud of his team.

Some of his favorite past times were tearing up the yard in his John Deere tractor, cooking for family and friends, fishing, hosting parties, shooting his guns, traveling and most of all spending time laughing with his friends and family.

Jon's celebration of life will be held Friday, February 24 ^th at Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, VA. Gathering begins at 12pm, service at 1pm. All are welcome to attend.
