Josefina A. Bravo passed away on August 14, 2018. She was 17 years old. Josefina was the daughter of proud parents Jorge Luis Bravo and Flor de Maria Bravo.
Josefina's passion was the music. She had a great passion for it. She started learning clarinet and later on played Alto Saxophone and Baritone Saxophone, and many others. In music Josefina was able to win through auditions and became part of the County's District Band for the last 3 years playing Baritone Saxophone. She also performed solo recitals in churches and local stores during Christmas time. She could never stop playing new instruments. She worked very hard in school to encourage students from Elementary and Middle School to open their interest in music. She spent countless hours volunteering to promote participation of the middle school and high school students. Josefina loved to listen to music as well. But she had a difficult time finding her type of artists. Her brother and her own sister shared some types of music they were interested in. Josefina liked soft music, like R&B. The newer types of artist, such as The Weekend, Khalid and many others. She was also influenced by her parents in music. Religious music such as Michael W. Smith and Hillsong United were some of the artists she liked. Overall she enjoyed music that made her feel good and secure.
Josefina was still finding herself, but she had so many possibilities. She was an A plus student, but her passion went beyond academics. Throughout her years in Elementary school she tried many hobbies. She received a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and became Assistant Instructor for Black Belts. Josefina also played soccer and she really loved it. She was always talking about how she wanted to try a new thing every week. Josefina loved to take pictures, especially of nature and parks. She loved playing with her dogs. She had a passion for some TV shows. Any time we hear someone speak of a show that show loved, we will be reminded of the many times we heard her laugh because of it.
Josefina went to church with her family whenever she had the chance. She was never too fond of the teen groups that got together on Sundays, but she was a true believer of God. Always talking about him, always asking to be prayed for. Always asking for forgiveness, always asking for more information on how to find her way in life through Christ.
Josefina will be remembered for her willingness to help others, her noble heart always present, and living at her full potential.
We will be reminded of her by music. So many powerful artists who speak of love and life will help remind us through their lyrics. Even within their music, the instruments they play will remind us of her passion.
Seeing youth in everyday life will remind us of how innocent and young she was, so much potential in our youth.
Chicha Morada, a Peruvian drink she loved, will definitely remind us of her.
The night will remind us of Josefina. She could never seem to sleep easy and was always asking to go out on random shopping dates or drives.
It will be in the night when we are alone that she will speak to us individually.
Josefina was a pure and innocent soul. This world was never enough for her. And it truly was not where she belonged, for she belonged in the hands of God. We know that she is with him now.
She gave us 17 years of smiles, joy, silliness, curiosity, and many other unforgettable happenings. She will be alive in our hearts forever.
