Joseph A. Voss, was born September 11 ^th , 1918 in Hammond, IN and died at the age of 98 on

March 28, 2017 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Leesburg VA. Joe retired from Kaiser Aluminum as a sales consultant and chemical engineer.

He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia (Pierik) Voss, Son Mark and daughter Karen Ann.

He is survived by his children; Joseph Jr. (Pamela), John (Judy), Gregory, Linda DiMuzio (Greg), Bruce (Heather), David (Lisa). Together, Pat and Joe celebrated 8 children, 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Joe graduated from Case Western University with a degree in Metallurgy. Later, he was drafted into the Army during World War Two. After a short stint, Joe was called out of the service to run the steel mills because of his skills.

Pat and Joe started out life together in Canfield Ohio. When baby #8 came along, they realized the need for more space and moved to Aurora, OH in '63. Once Joe retired, they moved south to Palm City Florida where Joe was an active member of the Power Squadron, an avid golfer and fisherman.

Joe and Pat loved the outdoors. One summer in the early 60's, with all 8 kids in tow, they packed up the station wagon, tents, and a U-Haul for a 2 month long cross country adventure, it was wild trip. Somehow everyone survived, despite the tornados in Kansas, the bears at Yellowstone and the ice storm through the Rockies!

Fishing was such a passion for both Joe and Pat, they even purchased a summer home on a small island on Stony Lake in Canada, fondly named: Happy Hour Island. It was there that Joe earned the nickname: Muskie Joe!

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 21370 St. Theresa Lane, Ashburn, VA 20147 on Saturday April 8 ^th , 2017 at 10:00 AM. There will be a Mass at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City Florida on April 22 ^nd at 10:00 AM followed by a Christian burial at Forrest Hill Cemetery in Palm City.
