Joyce Lee Lesher died October 1, 2014 at Reston Hospital Center. Born to John and Marion Dixon on September 21st, 1941 in Washington, DC. Survived by loving husband William Lesher, loving sister to Barbara (Walt) Trollinger, children Lisa Clements and Gene (Kathy) Miller. Step-children Sean (Michele) Lesher and Molly (Patrick) Armstrong. Grandchildren Travis (Lauren) Barlow, Kristen and Taylor Barlow, Zach and Nathan Lesher, Aidan, Gavin and Madeleine Armstong and a special bond with nephews Dave, John and Steve Trollinger.

Joyce and her sweetheart Bill met through the Department of Agriculture where they formed a special friendship that blossomed into a 21 year loving marriage and partnership. Together they enjoyed years of travel, golf, quiet moments together, and family-family-family. Joyce enjoyed more than anything being a loving, caring and exceptional daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and grandmother but Joyce to Bill, Mom to Gene and Lisa were her life's passion.

Joyce was a life long Washington, DC area resident. She graduated from Oxon Hill High School and resided in Maryland for many years. She was that special someone that paid attention to every detail. Everything she did she did to perfection and made everyone feel like they mattered. Every holiday, event or just a Sunday dinner were special in every way because of how she made it. Simply the best person in this world!!!

The family would like to send a special Thank You to the staff of Dr. Stanely Crossland for the constant care and medical attention that they provided for Joyce over the years. Words can't describe our gratitude and appreciation!!

Family will receive friends on Sunday, October 5, 2014 between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd NE, Leesburg, Virginia 20176. Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 6, 2014 starting at 11:00 am. Reverend Barney Schwanke will be officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Leesburg, Virginia.
