First Female Bus Driver in Loudoun County
Juanita Brown Ellison, 87, of Aldie, Virginia, died Saturday May 2, 2009. She was born in Houston, Texas, on April 13, 1922. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Rolfe K. Ellison and parents Henry and Jacqueline Brown. She is survived by her son R.H. Ellison and his wife Janie, her daughter Jay Edmondson, seven grandchildren and five great grandsons.
Juanita was a homemaker and drove a school bus for Loudoun County Schools for nine years, being the first female in that position.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 4, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home 201 Edwards Ferry Rd. NE Leesburg, Virginia 20176. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Stonewall Memory Gardens 12004 Lee Highway, Manassas, Virginia 20109. Pallbearers will be grandsons Ryan Edmondson, Derrick Ellison, Branden Ellison and David Edmondson along with Ryan Belote and Dan Milloy. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rumsey Light, Jr., Kim Light, John Stickman, Steve Williams, Doug Rose, Trigg Kincer and Curtis Poland. The Pastor Joe Adams is officiating.
