Juanita "Jay" Ellison Edmondson
November 18, 1957 – January 31, 2025

Jay Edmondson, a lifelong resident of Aldie, Virginia, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born at Loudoun Hospital on November 18, 1957, she spent her life building a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family.

She is survived by her five children, Ryan Edmondson (Tina), Tara Belote (Ryan), Megan Edmondson (Paul), Erin Milloy (Dan), and David Edmondson (Crystal); thirteen cherished grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her brother, R.H. Ellison (Janie); two nephews; two great-nephews; and three great-nieces.

She was predeceased by her parents, Rolfe K. Ellison and Juanita B. Ellison, as well as her husband, David L. Edmondson.

Jay was a dedicated member of the Loudoun County Public School system, working in the cafeterias of several elementary schools for nearly 30 years. She took pride in her work and formed lasting connections with the students and staff she served. A graduate of Loudoun County High School in 1977, Jay lived a simple life filled with the things that mattered most—her family, her faith, and her love for Washington sports, especially the Redskins and Nationals.

To her loved ones, she was more than just a mother and grandmother—she was "Mom," "Grandma," "Grandma Jay," "G-Dog," and "Aunt Jay."  Her warmth and unwavering kindness to others will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who knew and loved her.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 22, at 12:00 p.m. at Stonewall Memory Garden followed by a reception at Aldie Elementary. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate Jay's life.
