Jungok Park, 78 of Hamilton, VA passed away on Saturday, April 26th, 2025 in Leesburg, VA. She was born in Incheon, Korea on December 23rd, 1946 to the late Wonsun Oh and Hongap Na.

Jungok graduated from prestigious all girl's college in Seoul, Korea with a degree in early childhood education. She married Nyunsu Park in 1967 in Korea. She met her future husband, Nyunsu, when he rented a room from her parents. They moved to the United States in the early 80s with their children and settled down in Seattle, WA. In 2007, they moved to the east coast and lived in and around Northern VA.

She was a stay at home mom most of her life raising her three children, until 2015 when she stared working at Wegman's. Over the course of 10 years, she worked part time as a sushi helper and a hostess. She really enjoyed working there. Prior to working at Wegman's she helped babysit her grandchildren whom she adored, while her daughter was away from home for work.

Jungok was very athletic and played tennis at a national level representing Korea against Japan. When she wasn't playing tennis, she loved playing guitar and piano. Music was a big part of her life. In addition, she loved gardening to the point where her designs were so elaborate they required a lot of maintenance.

She leaves her family to cherish her memory. She was predeceased by her husband, Nyunsu in 2017 as well as her brother, Seungchun. She is survived by her daughters, Sara Park of Leesburg, VA and Sandy Lee of Weehawken, NJ; her son, Johnny Park of Hamilton, VA; her sisters, Joanne, Jungin, and Junghyun; her brother, Seungkook; and her grandchildren, Jordan, Sammi, Angel, Hamin, and Hajin.

A memorial gathering will be held at Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg, VA on Saturday, May 17th, 2-4 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
