Karen Margrethe Tjader (Age 91)

Karen Margrethe Tjader passed on August 4, 2019 at her home in Sterling, VA. Karen is the beloved mother to two sons, Bob (Diana) and Bill (Tammy); Beloved grandmother to Christina, Erik (Alleigh), David (Michelle), Andrew and Stephen; and beloved great-grandmother to Gavin, Gwendolyn, Alexis, Kai and Rylee. She loved all children.

Karen was born on August 11, 1927 in Copenhagen, Denmark, where she grew up. In 1948 she moved to the U.S. and married Clifford, her husband until his death in 1981.

Karen had a full, active and happy life among her family. She traveled the world to; China, England, Scotland, Wales, Scandinavia, France, Canada, and throughout the U.S. She was an avid reader; enjoyed vacations to the shore, Niagara Falls, and The Grand Canyon; and she enjoyed holidays and all gatherings with her family.

A celebration of her life will be held at Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd., NE, Leesburg on Saturday August 24 at 11:00am. A reception will be held following the service.
