Karin Paula Formoso of Ashburn, Virginia passed away at home on August 11th, 2021.  She grew up in Portland, Oregon and raised her family in Herndon, Virginia before moving to Ashburn with her husband.  She was a loving mother and cared deeply for her family.

Karin enjoyed an active social life, regularly attending and often hosting get togethers.  She made a consistent effort to stay in touch with her friends from throughout her life while at the same time committing herself to the care and well being of her children.

Karin also devoted much of her time to helping others through her involvement with many altruistic efforts.  She was a member of the American Association of University Women, a volunteer at her children's schools, Girl Scout leader, preschool teacher, and an active part of her church congregation at Community Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her brother Ed Formoso, husband Jeff Verhulst, son Alex Verhulst, daughter Adrian Verhulst, and granddaughter Clarice Stager.
