Kim Formisano, aged 67, passed away in Sterling, VA, on April 25, 2023, on a beautiful Spring day.

Kim was born and raised in Hempstead, NY. In his early 20s he moved to Wilmington, NC with his family. There he met his future wife and mother of his children, Donna Moorefield. They moved to Virginia in 1998 where they lived together until Donna's passing in 2005. He worked in Computer Engineering for many years before retiring in 2019.

Kim was known for his love of fantasy, music, and having fun. He was always excited about a good concert or a new superhero movie coming out and could talk politics for hours with anyone interested. He had a kind spirit that could make a friend anywhere he went and he always helped anyone in need whenever he could. He had a great love for movies and books as well, and made sure to pass on his love of stories about heroes to his children; a legacy that they promise to pass on to their children as well.

Kim is survived by his children, Ryan (Nia), Britton (Carla), and Seana (Ryan); his long-time partner, Tonya; grandchildren, Ripley and soon-to-be-born Baby Boy Formisano; sister, Lori; brothers, Derek and Gary; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kim is preceded in death by his wife, Donna; father and mother, Victor and Louise; and his sister, Cheryl.

Kim's children would like to thank their father for showing them what magic means, how important a good night of dancing to good music is for the soul, and the importance of regularly snuggling up with loved ones to watch a superhero save the day.
