She was born to Beauton and Jessie Fisher on July 27th,1943, and spent the majority of her life in Huntsville, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Wayne Davis, as well as her mother, father, and elder sister, Constance Joan (Billy) Bowden. Lana is survived by her son, Jeffrey Wayne (Lisa) Davis, daughter, Donna Lyn Davis, three grandsons, Brent (Molly), Brandon (Kaylie), and Gary Spencer Davis, as well as four great-grandsons, Carter, Mason, Owen and Avery Davis.
Lana grew up in the Five Points area of Huntsville, attending Rison school and graduating from Huntsville High in 1961. She was noted to be "Witty, carefree, full of fun, liked and enjoyed by everyone" in her senior annual. After high school she went to work as a secretary on Redstone Arsenal. Lana's husband took note of her one day at work and declared to his friend that one day he would marry her. On December 28th, 1962, the dream came true. They were married at Second Baptist Church and had their first child the next year. Lana was the neighborhood mom, never refusing a visitor and embodying southern hospitality and charm. She was very interested in her kids' passions, getting involved in many sports and activities, especially bowling. When her grandchildren rolled around, she didn't slow down, either. She was as loving and caring as anyone could hope to be, with a passionate attitude and bright spirit that never dulled. She will be dearly missed.
She will be brought home and laid to rest with her husband and parents in Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville, Alabama. A celebration of life and graveside service will be held in early March, details will be shared in the near future. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local animal shelter or American Heart Association.
