Larry Allen James passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017.    A longtime resident of Lovettsville, Virginia, Larry was 63 years old.

His gruff exterior hid a heart that was kind and loving.  Larry frequently opened his door to anyone needing a place to stay.  He was the first one at your door if he knew there was a chance he could help with a difficult job.  He was there for a cup of coffee, a chat and some sound advice - often from the scriptures in his bible.  He would quickly tell you his favorite bible verse was John 3:16.  Children and animals loved him and he felt a special bond with them as well.  Although a man of many talents, he was never one to boast.

Larry will be missed by the loved ones he leaves behind; his children Sara Piper (David), Nathan James (Lyndsey) and Alicia James (D.J.); grandchildren Taylor and Tyler Green and Garrett James; brothers Frank James (Pat), Timmy James and Kevin James (Billie Jo); sisters Patricia Jenkins and Cheryl James; along with sister-in-law Judy James and many extended family members and friends.

Larry was predeceased by his brother Roger James and parents William Lee James and Betty (James) Spitzer.

Although he is gone from our sight, his memories will continue to live on in the hearts of the many who were blessed to have known him.

A gathering of family and friends is planned for Sunday, February 12, 2017 between the hours of 12:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Lovettsville Fire and Rescue, 12837 Berlin Turnpike, Lovettsville, Virginia 20180.
