On May 17, 2017, surrounded by family and friends, our beloved Laurie Van Winkle stepped into eternity and into the loving arms of Jesus. Ask anyone to describe Laurie and you will often hear the word: sweet . There was no sweeter wife, mother, daughter, sister or friend. She always lent a tender listening ear, and provided gentle, compassionate wisdom and an encouraging word.

Laurie was born August 12, 1960 in Fort Myers, Florida and was raised in California by her father Jerry Lynch and her Grandma Lynch. Laurie married Eric Van Winkle on October 5, 1985 in Costa Mesa, California. They moved to Northern Virginia with their daughter in 1991, sons Joshua and Paul soon followed, and the family eventually settled in Purcellville in 2004. Laurie is survived by her husband Eric, their three children Elizabeth, Joshua and Paul, her father Jerry Lynch and many loving friends.

Family will receive friends between the hours of 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Road NE, Leesburg, Virginia 20176. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Purcellville Baptist Church, 601 Yaxley Drive, Purcellville, Virginia 20132.

Laurie loved bright spring colors and found joy in the beauty of flowers. Her family welcomes guests to wear something pink or colorful to her service, which would give our precious Laurie much joy. Donations of flowers can be made in Laurie's honor and she will be surrounded by flowers, bright color and love as we remember and celebrate her beautiful life.
