Obituary

We are heartbroken to announce that Lawrence "Larry" Roger Drewett Jr. has passed away, all too soon, on Monday, January 27, 2025. He was surrounded by family and peacefully passed on to heaven after a strong year long battle with cancer and is now with his dad Lawrence "Larry" Roger Drewett Sr.

Larry had a big heart and would do anything he could to help a person out. He believed in doing what is right, not necessarily easy. He loved life and people, to the extent of eye donation so others could see the wonder of the world after he was gone. The outdoors, fishing, arrowhead hunting, darts and football along with his dogs, cats and turtles were his passions. Larry's infectious smile would reach his hazel eyes and twinkle with joyfulness when doing or talking about his passions.

Larry is preceded to God by his dad Lawrence Roger Drewett Sr. He is survived by his mom Ellen Drewett of Sterling, his sisters Tamara "Tammy" Bussineau (Scott) of Front Royal, and Valerie Scott (Jeff) of Front Royal and brother Jeffrey Drewett (Sherri) in China. Seven nieces and nephews Anthony "Tony" Lawrence Drewett (Tamara) of Inwood, WV, Cherrilynne "Cher" Scott (Nick) of Radford, Aurorua Drewett, Athena Drewett, Ailia Drewett of China, Amy Bussineau (Chris) of Front Royal, Justin Bussineau (Kasey) of Sterling, and four great grandnieces and nephew Caroline, Adeline, Jaxson and Calla along with many, many friends.

The family is grateful for the care, compassion and companionship of the ICU staff at INOVA Loudoun especially his day nurse Jen Mitchley who went personally beyond for Larry and we are forever grateful to her.

The family invites all to viewing on January 31, 2025 from 6-8pm at Colonial Funeral Home with viewing also on February 1, 2025, from 11am 12pm with a Celebration of Life Remembrance and then graveside service at Chestnut Cemetery, Herndon, VA where he will be laid near his dad.

"Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted." Matthew 5:4
