Obituary

On Monday, June 17, 2024, Lee Andrew Pearson unexpectedly passed away, at the age of 62.

He was born in Utica, NY, on June 15, 1962, to the late Willie James and Lonnie Bell Pearson.  One of fourteen children, he was affectionately known as "Daddy Long Legs."

Lee graduated from Thomas R. Proctor High School in 1981, and shortly after, enlisted in the U.S. Army.  After returning home from the military, he eventually settled in Washington, D.C.

Lee worked at Samaritan Inns and was a dedicated, hard working employee, who often worked extra hours to ensure shifts were covered. He spent most of his life helping others and lived by the words that he often spoke: "I can't keep what I got, unless I give it away, so I give it away every day. I come to work motivated to give back."

In addition to his love for his job, Lee was a sports enthusiast. He loved the New York Yankees, Giants, and Knicks.

Lee also loved music, cooking, and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends.

Lee is survived by "his girls", daughters Brandi (Justin) and Jessica (Jake), siblings Charles Pearson, Rev. Booker (Priscilla) Pearson, Josephine (John) Asbell, John Edward (Geneva) Pearson, Alphonso (Elizabeth) Pearson, Gloria Jean (James) Harris, Audrey Pearson, Arthur (Victoria) Pearson, William Fitzgerald Pearson, Thomas (Deborah) Pearson, "his love" and long-time girlfriend, Regina Brooks, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family members.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Rev. Lonnie Mae Pugh and Margaret La'von Pearson, and his brother, Christopher Pearson.

Lee will always be remembered for his humor, contagious laugh, ability to lighten up a room, positivity, and generosity.

A service to celebrate Lee's life will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg, located at 201 Edwards Ferry Road, NE, Leesburg, VA 20176.
