Lena Mae Fry died on April 17, 2010. She was 94. Lena was born on October 11, 1915 in Lucketts, Virginia to the late Ervin P. and Maude Stocks Athey. She lived her entire life in Lucketts. For sixteen years, she was the cook at Lucketts Elementary School. She loved cooking and was famous for her fresh-baked breads and pies. Anyone visting her home was always welcome at her dining table. Lena is survived by her daughter Betty A. Williams; granddaughter Diane and husband Paul Hope; and by the light of her life, her great grandson Jacob Hope. She is also survived by two sisters, Mary Carnes and Nancy Quesenberry and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy L. Fry; brothers John, Joe, Phil and Harry Athey; and sisters Margaret Carnes, Esther Brown and Francis Athey. Friends may call on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd. NE, Leesburg, VA 20176. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Andreas Armstrong officiating. Interment immediately following at Union Cemetery.
