Obituary

Leon "Leo" Lageman, loving husband of Charlotte, passed on December 17 at Loudoun Memorial Hospital, at the age of 85.
Leo was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on April 29, 1930. He moved to Fairfax, Virginia in his teens. Charlotte and Leo meet while in High School and married September 17, 1951. Shortly after he went into the Army. He served as a sergeant in the 25th Infantry Division. He fought in most of the major battles in Korea such as Chosin Reservoir, Hamburger Hill, Punch Bowl, Heartbreak Ridge, etc.

After returning from Korea, Leo and Charlotte resided in Alexandria, Vienna, Woodstock and Sterling, Virginia. He was a mechanic with the D.C. Fire department. His passions included his family, hunting, football and other sports. He was an avid hunter and until recently never missed an opportunity.

Surviving Leo are his wife of 65 years, Charlotte Lageman; daughters Sharon Norris and Diane Brower; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; 2 brothers David and Neil Lageman and a sister, Lynn Butler.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to the American Legion of Woodstock, P.O. Box 357, Woodstock, Virginia 22664 or the American Cancer Society, National Capital Region, 124 Region Park Street, S.E., Vienna, VA 22180.

A graveside service will be held at Quantico National Cemetery, on Friday, January 8, 2015 at 1:00pm.
