Lewis R. McClenahan, 72, of Leesburg, died Wednesday, March 19, 2014.

He married the late Maria Elena McClenahan in 1964 and they lived together in Northern Virginia.

Lewis retired as an air traffic controller with the FAA. Before his career with the FAA, he served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper, first in the 101 ^st Airborne division and later in the 82 ^nd . He was a true patriot and a firm supporter of the armed forces and police.

Lewis was an active member of various Christian ministries and churches, locally, nationally and abroad.

Lewis is survived by: his second wife Betty; his three sons, Lewis Jr., Kent, and Christopher; three grandsons, Kent Jr., Daniel, and William; as well as, four brothers, Bill, Tim, Tom, Kevin, and one sister, Colleen.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that a donation be made to the NRA.
