Lianne May Stever, 91, of Sterling, Virginia and formerly of Great Falls, Virginia passed away on January 10, 2009 at her home. Ms. Stever was born August 16, 1917 in Portsmouth, England to Clara Purse. She was the wife of U.S. Navy Captain Elbert M. Stever, deceased. Prior to moving to the U.S., Ms. Stever served as a Captain in the English Army, Royal Artillery, Anti-aircraft Command and was a veteran of World War II. Ms. Stever loved animals and during her life lovingly cared for many rescued pets adopted from the local animal shelter.
