Obituary
Lillian Amelia Beales Carlisle of Leesburg, passed away on August 16, 2015 at her home in Leesburg with her immediate family by her side. She was 87 years old.
Lillian was born on August 16, 1928 in Leesburg, Virginia to the late Henry Jefferson Beales and Mabel Ann Beales.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, William F. "Bill" Carlisle. Lillian leaves behind her only daughter, Linda D. Mullins of Leesburg and her only surviving sibling, Rose C. Jewell of Round Hill, and her sister-in-law, Margie Beales of Round Hill. She was preceded in death by her other siblings Helen A. Saunders, Doris R. Fisher, Cecil O. Pierce, Joseph W. Pierce, Janet V. Harper, Raymond R. Pierce, Florence E. Marcus, Richard H. Beales, Evelyn M. Pangle, Doreen M. Philyaw, and Alvin C. Beales, and her son-in-law, Foyster Mullins, Jr. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Sherry L. Polend of Purcellville and Tabatha A. Mullins of Leesburg; three great-grandchildren, Gregory A. Polend, Jr., Collin R. Mullins, and preceded in death by Nicolette S. Polend. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Lillian was a devoted and loving military wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her favorite pastimes were spent playing bingo, Scrabble, dominos and watching The Wheel of Fortune; traveling with her family across the US; flower gardening, but was most happy spending time with her family. She will be missed by all who loved and honored her, especially by her loyal canine companion, Duke.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 20, 2015 between 6:00 and 8:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Road NE, Leesburg, VA 20176. Funeral services will be held at Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, Virginia on Friday, August 21st at 1 p.m. with interment immediately thereafter at Union Cemetery in Leesburg. Pallbearers are: Gregory A. Polend, Jr., Collin R. Mullins, Matthew Smith, Jeff Philyaw, Greg A.
