Obituary

Lillie Kannry passed away in Leesburg at her daughter JoAnn's home on March 15, 2015. Lillie was born in New York City on May 13, 1929. She was the daughter of Ida and Abe Friedman. Growing up in NYC she loved theater and dance. She worked in retail at the Garment District and Empire State Building and taught tap dance in NYC. Lillie moved to Florida where she married and raised two daughters. Over the years Lillie and her girls lived in various parts of the country later settling in Texas. Lillie went back to school and began a new career as a nurse. She later married Victor Kannry, who preceded her in death. Lillie had many interests and a zest for life. As part of her very full life, she enjoyed painting, acting, dancing, playing cards, cooking (never following a recipe), storytelling, gardening, traveling, bird watching, and searching for a good deal in her favorite 'boutiques'. Lillie never met a stranger and was always interested in learning about people. Most of all she loved and cherished spending time with her family, never missing a 'teachable' moment and sharing/spreading her wisdom.

Lillie is survived by her daughters Gina Kleiman (Bruce deceased) of Farmersville, Texas and JoAnn Hoovler (Earl) of Leesburg and her grandchildren Philip Kleiman of Austin, Paul Kleiman of Dallas and Robyn and Emily Hoovler of Leesburg Virginia. Lillie will be returning one more time to Texas to be laid to rest next to her husband Victor in Dallas.
