L. Belle (Zoller) Arnold

LEESBURG, VA -- Lily Belle (Zoller) Arnold, 94, of Leesburg, VA, formerly of Durham, NH for 50 years, died Monday, July 20, 2015 at Heritage Hall in Leesburg, after a brief illness.

Born in Burlington, Iowa on July 22, 1920, Belle was the daughter of the late John Albert Nordstrom and Violet Minda (Engstrom) Nordstrom of St. Paul, MN.

She graduated from Albin High School, Wyoming. She is an alumna of the University of Wyoming in Laramie, WY, graduating in 1942 with a B.A. degree in elementary education.

Belle was married to James Harold Zoller of Boulder, CO on June 24, 1942 for 35 years until his death on Feb. 13, 1977. Their family includes five sons, Jay Harold Zoller of Newcastle ME, John Albert Zoller of Leesburg, VA, James Alexander Zoller of Houghton, NY, Jerry Schuyler Zoller of Concord, NH, all born in Laramie, WY, and Jonas Peter Zoller of Farmington, NH. born in Dover, NH.
Belle was later married to William "Bill" N. Arnold of Goffstown, NH on July 28, 1996 for ten years until his death May 6, 2006.

Belle was active in the Dover Baptist Church of Dover, NH for 50 years in various ministries, including singing in the choir, and founder and director of the pre-school (kindergarten) program for 23 years. She was active in the Durham sewing circle and was a member of the board of trustees of the Dover Children's Home.

Belle's greatest delight was raising her sons, and actively supporting her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She enjoyed reading, playing the piano, and traveled to Europe and the Holy Land several times.

She is survived by her five sons and spouses, Jay & Rachel, John & Alice, Jim & Donna, Jerry & Susan, Jonas & Cyndi, 20 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Albert (age 76), Violet (94), brother Albert Dean Nordstrom (13), and sisters Viola Marie Carlson (94), Alberta Ruth Pearson (96).

A special word of gratefulness is extended to the wonderful staff at Heritage Hall who provided boundless care, devotion, and love to Belle since 2011.

SERVICES: A memorial service will be held Monday, July 27, at 10:30 am at the Mt. Hope Baptist Church, 42507 Mt. Hope Road, Ashburn, VA with the Rev. John Zoller officiating.

A NH memorial service will be held Friday, August 21, at 10:30 am at the Dover Baptist Church, 151 Washington St, Dover, NH. A reception will follow at the conclusion of the service with light refreshments. Afterwards, the family will convene at the Durham Cemetery for a private committal service.

Family requests that in Lieu of flowers, "Please to give to a charity, faith based organization, church or need of your choosing in the name of Christ Jesus Our Lord".
