Obituary
Lorraine Cecelle Klonarides, 95, recently of Lansdowne, Virginia, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017. Lorraine was born on August 24, 1922, to the late Marvin D. Jones and Rose Cecelle Gillespie in North Tonawanda, New York. After living in McLean, Virginia for nearly fifty-two years, Lorraine moved to Arbor Terrace in Herndon in 2012, where she had many friends. She had recently moved to Ashleigh of Lansdowne. With her silver hair, grey-blue eyes, and smooth white skin, Lorraine was a true beauty, always nicely dressed and coiffed. She loved to sing with the radio and had been a great dancer.
Additionally, Lorraine loved good food, family and friends, and to be the center of attention, which came easy as she had the knack of telling a good story, combined with a great sense of humor. After raising her family, she worked as a Claims Manager at Insurance and Investments in Vienna, VA, for eighteen years. As a long-time cancer survivor, Lorraine was a fighter and a person of strong will and character. She loved to live life to the fullest.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Cecelle, her loving husband of sixty-five years, George Andrew, and her brother, Marvin D. Jones, Jr. (Danny). She is survived by her children Carole Ann Klonarides. Los Angeles, CA, James Klonarides (wife Robin), Bolivia, N.C., Susan Virnelson (husband Kevin), Sterling, Va; her grandchildren Heather Johnson (Matt), Aaron Plumb (Carrie), Sheri Laguna (Dennis), Michael (Jeremy), Robert and Brian Klonarides; and great grandmother to Sophie Grace, Andrew Michael, and Leila Corinne Plumb, and Kierra and Tyler Johnson, as well as by her nieces and nephews, Daniel Jones and his wife, Jan; Diane Cullembar and her husband Tom; Dale Lynn King, and Douglas (Dougie) and his wife Angie, and all of their children and grandchildren.
Lorraine was greatly loved and will be forever remembered.
A memorial reception will be held between 1 and 3 pm. on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Ashleigh at Lansdowne located at 44124 Woodridge Parkway, Lansdowne, Virginia 20176.
