Lottie Mae Stuckey, 86, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Spring Arbor Assisted Living in Leesburg, Virginia. She was born on April 15, 1930 in El Dorado, Arkansas to Lawrence and Essie (Brooks) Zachry. Lottie grew up in East Texas and went to Gaston High School in Joinerville, Texas where she met Billy James Stuckey in 1945. They were married on December 23, 1950 and were later blessed with a daughter, Linda.
Lottie and Bill enjoyed worldwide travel, including Europe, Asia, and Australia. She and Bill were also avid football fans and spent many Sunday afternoons watching their favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. Lottie also enjoyed crafts and could always be found at the Spring Arbor craft class every Thursday afternoon.
Lottie is survived by her daughter, Linda and her son-in-law, Mic. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Essie; her brother, Billy Ray; her sister, Kathryn; and Bill, her husband of 59 years.
Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd. NE, Leesburg, VA 20176 on Thursday, January 12, 2017 between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 13, 2017, starting at 10:00 a.m. Pastor David Kroeze of McLean Bible Church Loudoun will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association National Capital Area Chapter, 8180 Greensboro Drive, Suite 400, McLean, VA 22102.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at the Spring Arbor Memory Care Unit and Capital Caring Hospice for their support during her final days.
