Lou Ann Hylton, 77, of Leesburg, VA, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 28.
Born August 22, 1937 in Smoot, WV, she was the daughter of the late Granville and Virginia McClung. She has been a resident of Virginia most of her adult life, where she was a teacher at Parkwood School in Vienna, co-director of the Wesley Methodist Preschool, and an interior designer and co-owner of Feather Your Nest, Inc. Lou Ann was an active member of the Dranesville United Methodist Church, including serving on the Board of Trustees and leading the Sunshine Brigade. In recent years, she enjoyed traveling, decorating, flower gardening, and doting on her family, especially her grandchildren. Lou Ann has lovingly been a caregiver to her dear family and friends throughout her life.
Left to cherish her memories include her husband of 57 years, Denny L. Hylton, her two children, Todd Hylton and wife Susan of San Diego, CA, and Denna Zimmerman and husband David of Oak Hill, VA; grandchildren John and Lydia Hylton, and Benjamin and Victoria Zimmerman; sisters Connie Jo Bryant and husband Curt of Lewisburg, WV, and Eloise Elliott and husband Mark of Princeton, WV; brother-in-law Howard Hylton and wife Belinda of Mount Lookout, WV, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Friday, May 1, at Colonial Funeral Home, Leesburg,VA. The funeral service will be at 11 am on Saturday, May 2, at the Dranesville United Methodist Church 1089 Liberty Meeting Ct, Herndon, VA 20170 with Reverend Bill Heinzman officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 3, at the Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville, WV, with Dr. Joseph Geiger officiating.
If memorial contributions are preferred, the family requests that they be made in Lou Ann's name to the Dranesville United Methodist Church, 1089 Liberty Meeting Ct, Herndon, VA 20170.
Pallbearers are David Zimmerman, Mark Elliott, John Hylton, Benjamin Zimmerman, Tim McFillin, and Mike Jackson.
