Louise "Susie" Painter passed away peacefully on May 25, 2016, in her home in Lovettsville, VA, after a brief battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her husband, daughter, and son-in-law.

Susie was born on October 2, 1932, in Leesburg, VA, one of 4 children of Louis and Margaret Saunders. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1951. She was a leading lady in the insurance business, working for Paxson & Hawthorne for 56 years.

She married Renace H. Painter in 1955, and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last October. She gave birth to their daughter, Terri, in 1958.

Susie was a friend to many, and the best wife, friend, Mom, and Mother-in-Law anyone could ever hope to have. She also loved her granddogs, and was known and loved by many as "Rally Mom" in the dog world. In addition, she enjoyed playing the slots at the casino, country music, and especially in her most recent years, attending Marty Stuart concerts. She was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan, and loved football season. She was an excellent cook, and took great pride in serving everyone at her table.

She is survived by her family who loved her so very much: husband Renace Painter, daughter and best friend Terri Greer, son-in-law Jep Greer, and brother Jack Saunders.

There will be a Memorial Service to celebrate Susie's life on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at 2 p.m., at Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, VA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Suite 405, Winchester, Virginia 22601, who was so kind and gentle in their care during her last week of life.

Her presence here on Earth will be greatly missed, but Heaven just got sweeter, and we know she will be watching over us, the way she always did. She is now in a place where there is no pain and no worry, only peace and love, as she is wrapped in the loving arms of God.
