Lurene Saunders, 88, of Leesburg, died Monday, February 22, 2010 at her home. Lurene was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and great-aunt and known and loved by all for being an exceptionally kind, gentle, and loving soul.
She was born May 16, 1921 in Stanley, VA to Vinda and Walter Lucas. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Larry Craun; sister, Anna Wigington; brother, Everett Lucas; two grandchildren, John Craun and Sherri Jaffee; and four great-grandchildren. Lurene is predeceased by her husband, John Saunders and by five sisters and one brother.
A viewing will be held between 6 pm and 8pm Thursday, February 25th at Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg. Funeral services will be Friday, February 26th at 1 pm at Colonial Funeral Home with burial following at Union Cemetery in Leesburg.
