IN LOVING MEMORY OF
M. Virginia
"Gini" Quante
August 13, 1939 – January 18, 2025
M. Virginia "Gini" Quante, born August 13th, 1939 in Havelock, Iowa passed away peacefully in Leesburg, Virginia with family present on January 18th, 2025.
Gini Quante enjoyed being a supportive military spouse to her husband, Colonel Frank Quante, Jr. Army, Retired. She also participated in creative outlets like Ikebana flower arranging, painting on canvas, and jewelry making. Another love was bird watching from the windows of her and Frank's home in Great Falls. Gini gave back to the community with her years of service to the American Cancer Society as President of the Virginia Chapter which allowed her to travel to different cities in the United States.
Gini was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Colonel Frank Quante Jr., her brother James P. Lanus of Colorado Springs, and her son Frank R. Quante of Sterling, Virginia. Gini's surviving family include: her sister Georganne Kasper and her husband John of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Susan Quante of Dallas, Texas, Carole Quante and her husband Martin Scott of Isle of Wight, David Quante and his wife Patti of North Carolina, Tracey Quante of New York, and Patrick Quante and his wife Jennifer of Hamilton, Virginia.
She has left behind four grandchildren; Harper Quante and partner Paul, Darren Quante and his wife Rachel, EJ Martin and his wife Kate, and Gabriel Martin and his partner Tia. She also leaves behind one nephew Mark Larsen and wife Jeanne of Colorado. In recent years, Gini really enjoyed family time and often ended the evening with, "This was the best day of my life."
The family would like to thank Spring Arbor of Leesburg and Blue Ridge Hospice for the loving care they gave Gini during her last years with us. A private burial will be planned at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to Blue Ridge Hospice or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
